Wednesday Mar 18, 2020
This interview will bless you as Latice Crawford returns as my guest on Real Gospel! Press play now and be blessed.
Bio:
Through her soul stirring performances and life-transforming compositions, singer-songwriter-actress Latice Crawford has become a favorite in the inspirational music & entertainment community. Blessed with a bold, powerful voice that has drawn comparisons to Whitney Houston and Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Crawford's cadre of fans have come to know that the unique musical experience the Bronx, New York native brings stems from a testimony of triumphs and struggles, which she passionately shares in her music.
Raised the daughter of a preacher, Crawford spent much of her early life heavily involved in the church, serving as choir director and lead vocalist for local ensembles. These experiences provided the perfect training ground for the vocal powerhouse to hone her signature sound and gripping delivery of God's message through song.Crawford gained national notoriety during her breakout performances on Season 2 of BET's ‘Sunday Best’, where she achieved second runner up. Following the TV series, she released her self-titled debut album in 2014, which brought the inspiring hit "There". In 2016, Crawford released her sophomore project, 'Diary of A Church Girl'. The critically acclaimed EP garnered Crawford her first Stellar Award nomination, a second Billboard charting album, and brought listeners a deep look into Crawford’s personal relationship with God through songs such as "Author" and “Choose Me". Selfpenned and nakedly autobiographical, the project resonates with authenticity in ways that transcend traditional gospel song story lines.
Crawford's connection with her audience and commitment to ministry extends well beyond that of a traditional recording artist". Crawford recently starred in the 15th anniversary run of the hit musical stage play Crowns. Audiences and critics lauded her performance as "soul-stirring" and "transcendent". Additionally, Crawford is also a contributor to the Huffington Post and Essence, writing on a range of topics to include mental wellness, parenting, race relations, and self-care.
Crawford states, “It is my hope that the story God has given me brings listeners on a relatable journey through the human experience and the power of going through it all with Christ. I want them to know that my story is our story, and that there is a loving God that cares about every aspect of our lives."

Bonita A. Shelby Interview
Friday Feb 28, 2020
Friday Feb 28, 2020
This is an interview you will never forget! First Lady Bonita A Shelby is my guest and we talk about her role with the Burning Bush International Mass Choir, ministry and how did the song, "Expect the supernatural" come to be. You don't want to miss this interview!
Bio:
Burning Bush International Ministries Mass (BBIM) Choir has been thrilling audiences for over 20 years! Founded by Bishop Don W. Shelby, Jr. and wife, Evangelist Bonita A. Shelby, at a small storefront church in Ypsilanti, MI, BBIM has evolved into a 21st century model of vibrant and energetic praise and worship.
Over 20 years since the first notes were sung by the choir, this talented group of dedicated vocalists and musicians has shared the stage with top-selling Gospel artists like Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Dorinda Clark Cole, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans and more. They have been featured on multiple television networks including The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), The Word Network, Impact Network, and TBN, as well as several local TV outlets.
Their debut single “Expect the Supernatural,” an inspiring tune featuring Andrea Paige Shelby – a member of sibling group and rising stars, The Shelby 5 as well as Burning Bush International Choir — is already receiving an enthusiastic welcome, debuting at #22 on the Top 100 Billboard Gospel Digital Music Sales Chart in June.
“‘Expect The Supernatural’ was birthed on a Sunday morning as Bishop [Shelby] preached a powerful word about the supernatural power of God, and how we would be blessed through raising our level of expectancy,” explains First Lady Shelby. “Supernatural is anything that we can’t do through natural means — or those things that seem impossible — but they become possible through God.”
Son, Don Shelby, III, also a member of The Shelby 5, became inspired to write the song during that service. "Expect The Supernatural" is the first release from a forthcoming BBIM Mass Choir project slated to impact later this year.
“It is our prayer that this song reaches hearts, breaks barriers, and is a beam of hope to remind all ages that with God all things are possible. I expect the supernatural and I believe the impossible!” Shelby continues. “My desire is that the world will once again embrace choral music and BBIM Mass Choir helps to start a movement of the rebirthed, reformed, and relevant (Sunday morning) "church choir."

Adriann Lewis Freeman Interview
Friday Feb 14, 2020
Friday Feb 14, 2020
Adriann Lewis Freeman is in the studio with me and we talk about her new album and her new song, "You Been So Good"! She'll share the back drop about this new project and she'll also give us some breaking news about the group, "Rizen", you don't want to miss this powerful and touching interview!
Bio:
Adriann Lewis-Freeman is the eldest daughter of Pastor Luciose Lewis Jr. and Kayron Lewis of Saginaw, MI. She has three siblings, Keith Jenkins, Aundrea Lewis and Ay’Ron Lewis. Adriann sang her first solo at three years of age, standing on a wooden box at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church (Saginaw, MI) where her mother was the musician, and her father was a deacon. At twelve years of age, while resting under a piano in a recording studio, Adriann knew that her career would be in singing after hearing her voice replayed from speakers on her first recording, “His the Greatest Friend of All,” with Saginaw Valley Choir under the direction of the late Rev. Jerry Redeemer and her mother, Kayron Lewis.
Adriann, along with her sister, Aundrea, are the founders of the gospel duo RiZen. RiZen has recorded three albums hitting the billboard charts at numbers 28, 6, and 3. They are the recipients of two Stellar Awards, several Dove Awards Nominations, and other countless awards for their musical and anointed vocals. They have ministered with Stevie Wonder, Yolanda Adams, Shelia E., Vickie Yohe, Byron Cage, Kirk Carr, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, James Fortune, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Pastor John P. Kee, Kelly Price, Tom Joyner, Dr. Bobby Jones and many others. They have also traveled around the United States, Europe, Germany, and Korea to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, and the word of God.
December 2008, God, along with Pastor Jimmy D. Greer and the Friendship Baptist Church in Nashville, TN, called her to be the Minister of Music. Her time at Friendship was just for a season as God had a plan to give her the desire of her heart, which was finishing her college degree and getting re-married. In 2011, she finished Tennessee State with a B. A. in English. Finishing her degree was not only for her, but also for her son to see how important education is. After much encouragement, in 2014 she received a Masters of Educational Leadership from Concordia University, Portland, Oregon. Today, she uses her education as a high school teacher for Tenessee’s Public Schools.
In 2012 she married Pastor Darin G. Freeman Sr. of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Nashville, TN and gained two wonderful children. Together they lead and mentor the people of God in Praise, Worship, Christian Education, and Global Outreach. Not only is she “Lady A,” but she also serves as the Minister of Worship & Music Arts.
Adriann has been featured and or collaborated on projects such as VaShawn Mitchell, Everett Drake, Bishop Paul Morton & Full Gospel, J.J. Hairston & First Cathedral Mass Choir, and most recently Brandon Mitchell’s Project “Amazing”. There are other projects that Adriann lend her anointed vocals to.
Today, Adriann has completed her first solo single, “Prayer Changes Things” which is available on all digital outlets. Her next single “Joybells” is soon to be released. Adriann believes, “For with God nothing shall be impossible” Luke 1:37

Dr. James Mable Interview
Friday Feb 07, 2020
Friday Feb 07, 2020
I have an in studio guest and it’s the one and only Dr. James Mable Jr. His song “I’m Free” is loved by the Real Gospel family and you’ll get to hear the testimony behind the story! Since he’s currently a youth pastor, he’ll give some great advice on how to reach the youth of this generation so parents, be sure to listen with your kids. Family this is an interview you don’t want to miss!
Bio:
Being the youngest child of four with three older sisters (Alicia, Bernecia, and Crystal), Dr. James Mable Jr., who hails from Navasota, TX, has carried the mantle of being special since birth. He is the son of Pastor James Mable Sr. and Mary Harvey Mable. Growing up in the home of a pastor was not always easy, but it was definitely worth it! In fact, James gives credit to his parents for preparing him for the journey called life and introducing him to Jesus Christ!
Education was a priority in the Mable household, and Dr. Mable did not disappoint. He graduated with honors from Navasota High School in 2003 and enrolled in Prairie View A&M University. Within a six-year span, Dr. Mable received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. However, his doctorate degree almost cost him his life. One afternoon on his way home from class, James fell asleep at the wheel and got into an accident causing his jeep to flip seven times. The next year and a half was filled with struggle and determination as James continued to pursue his doctorate while being partially paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair with seven permanent screws in his left foot. He had to learn how to walk all over again at the age of 27! Nevertheless, Dr. Mable survived it all! His professional career includes being a music teacher in Waller, TX, a research assistant at Prairie View A&M University, an independent newspaper distributor for the Houston Chronicle, and advisor at Houston Community College-Downtown. Dr. Mable knows that his education along with God’s favor has opened and will continue to open doors for him!
When it comes to ministry, Dr. Mable knows the calling on his life- a special gift to the body of Christ. He has always been a songbird. At the age of 15, he taught himself how to play the piano. In 2000, his passion and love for music prompted his father to name him Music Director at his home church (Missionary Camp Baptist Church). Seven years later at the age of 22, Dr. Mable finally answered the call to preach. Meanwhile, he continued his passion for music by auditioning for BET's Sunday Best singing competition in 2009. Although he missed the show by bowing out in the tie-breaking final round, this experience served as a launching pad for his ministry. On the plane ride home, Dr. Mable wrote a song entitled “Dream The Impossible Dream”, which he released in March of 2015 and is available on all major digital outlets.
He soon realized that God's plans were not his plans. God was ordering his steps! In June of 2015, Dr. Mable accepted the offer to become the Youth Pastor at the Antioch Baptist Church in Beaumont, TX under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Dr. John R. Adolph. When Dr. Mable arrived at Antioch, the G412 Youth Ministry had only 22 active kids. Today, that number has grown into the hundreds.
In addition, his music career continues to flourish! Last year, he released two new singles entitled “Praise Him” and “Holy Are You Lord”. Both tracks are available on all digital outlets! In January of 2019, Dr. Mable inked his first deal with music industry legend promoter/manager Greg “Uncle G” Lyons and Uncle G Records! Dr. Mable has shared the platform with artists such Kirk Franklin, Kurt Carr, Kirk Whalum, Jonathan Butler, Brian Courtney Wilson, Maranda Curtis, Zebulon Ellis, Leandria Johnson, Zacardi Cortez, Bishop Marvin Sapp, Bishop William Murphy III, Anita Wilson, Darwin Hobbs, James Fortune, Fred Hammond, Earnest Pugh, Dr. Dorinda Clark-Cole, Pastor John P. Kee, Dottie Peoples, Shawn McLemore, Kelontae Gavin, The Walls Group and Gene Moore, just to name a few. In July of 2019, Dr. Mable released his first official single under Uncle G Records entitled "I'm Free". The song is available on all digital music outlets! In addition, the song charted on the Billboard Gospel Digital Sales Chart at #17 two weeks after it was released to the general public. Not to mention, I’m Free was considered for a Grammy award for Best Gospel Performance/Song for the 2020 Recording Academy! Only God could do something like this! In December of 2019, James released his first Christmas classic rendition of Joy To The World, which has gotten rave reviews!
Dr. Mable uses his gifts of ministry, music and education all over the globe to give God the glory! James has been floored by the favor of God upon his life, and he is simply enjoying the ride…

Monique Ford Interview
Friday Jan 31, 2020
Friday Jan 31, 2020
Here she is, the one and only Monique Ford and she’s my guest on Real Gospel! How hard is it for an independent artist to bring God’s vision to manifestation, and how long does it take? You’ll hear what she has to say about that and we’ll talk about her project, “Journey” as well as her hot song, “Nothing Compares” Don’t miss this interview!
Bio:
Singer and songwriter Monique Ford began singing in church as a young girl in rural Selma, Alabama. Her love for music has grown over the years and is a true gift from God. Inspired by the likes of Whitney Houston and Yolanda Adams, Monique’s style is both contemporary and soulful.
Monique earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama and accepted a position in Colorado with a Fortune 500 company, but music was never far from her heart.
Upon her return to Selma she began singing at her home church. A local producer heard her sing one day and invited her to record. Though it wasn't gospel music she accepted the opportunity to record in a studio environment. Her first southern soul blues project titled "Get a Maid" was released in 2004. Monique wrote several songs on the successful project and went on to record two additional albums. However, she was never fulfilled with singing the blues and was led by God to walk away from it in 2008.
Monique began the process of writing her current gospel release, “Journey”. The songs are testament to her faith in God and a look into the journey her life has taken over the years. She is currently promoting her new album and spreading the love of Christ through song.
