About The Xman
The Xman got his start as an overnight radio personality in 1998 at WQZQ 102.5 FM “The Party” (CHR-pop format) which is currently a sports format, “The Zone” in Nashville. He was the first black radio personality at an all-white radio station and later became the only radio personality to work as an Account Executive and an on air personality at the same time.
He’s talent was quickly spotted by Jim Kennedy chief operations manager of Cumulus media of the Nashville TN and Atlanta GA offices. He was offered the position of overnight Radio Personality and assistant affiliate producer of the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show at WQQK 92Q in Nashville to which he accepted the offer and left the Cromwell Group for Cumulus Media. While at WQQK he quickly went on to do other shows such as the Quiet Storm, weekend Mid-Days, and as needed weekday Mid-Day’s and Afternoon Drive shows. The Xman went on to become affiliate producers for the nationally syndicated Doug Banks radio show, the nationally syndicated Russ Parr radio show, (both airing on Cumulus medias sister station) and later became the technical producer for Cumulus Medias first ever talk show on WQQK, “What’s the 411?” with Sharon Kay.
His technical and producing skills helped the 411 show to grow its audience which caught the attention of General Manager Melvin Geater of WABD in Athens GA whom after hearing the 411 show began to carry it on his radio station making the 411 show the only talk show in the history of WQQK to go into syndication.
After a period of time the Xman heard from the God and proceeded to answer his call to teach and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was also during this time Sharon Kay was offered and took the job as General Manager of WFSK 88.1 FM a public radio station in Nashville owned by Fisk University. Sharon Kay offered him the position of Program Director of WFSK to which he accepted and left Cumulus Media for WFSK.
Moving full throttle into ministry the Xman heard from God again who asked him to create the gospel show, “Real Gospel” with the Xman and has never looked back since. His show airs in Nashville Sunday mornings 9 am – 12 noon. 6 years after his first show, God opened doors for him and made ways for his show to go on into becoming syndicated. Real Gospel is now heard on countless radio stations around the world. His duties didn’t stop with just his program, while at WFSK he’s helped Sharon Kay take the radio station from the Arbitron reported fifties into the top 10 for urban radio in their market. In addition to his Program Director duties he’s help affiliate produce over 15 radio shows and over 6 live talk shows including “What’s the 411”, helping to brand WFSK, “The talk of Nashville”
