Bio:

Vetrea Slack Ruffin is an evangelist, author, national recording artist, songwriter, workshop conductor, and vocal instructor. She was raised in East St. Louis, IL.

"Vetrea Slack Ruffin and the Ruffin Family," consists of she and her daughters who are known for their unique blend and vocals. However, in celebration of Vetrea’s 60^th Birthday, she recorded and co-produced her most recent EP project, “Rain Down on Me.”

Vetrea has received many awards, honors and recognitions for her music and service. She is happily married to her husband of more than 41 years, Dr. Paul B. Ruffin, who is an award-winning, world-renowned retired scientist, educator, and pastor of the Forge Temple COGIC located in Birmingham, AL. They currently reside in Harvest, AL. Their two daughters, Lacretia (Kellen) Ruffin Conaway and Angelica Ruffin reside in Huntsville. She is the proud grandmother of three grandchildren: Jared, Victoria, and Kellen II.

Vetrea credits much of her success to her late mother (Vetrea Davidson Slack), her husband and family, as well as her longtime friend and Music Manager, Ms. Willie McClendon.
